The Last of Us — Fan Poster Design / Conceptual Artwork
A concept poster inspired by the atmosphere and style of HBO's The Last of Us. Focusing on the emotional connection between characters, visual drama, and destruction as a visual motif.
This poster is dedicated to Episode 6. I was inspired by the red in blood tones throughout the series. Red represents blood, weapons, veins, the infected fungal virus, and the violent unraveling of the world. It’s a color of both destruction and intensity.
Process
Symbolism
The poster centers around the two main characters in full figure. The erosion effect eating away at their silhouettes was inspired by the fungal virus visualized in the show’s title sequence.
Materials
Official imagery from HBO were used as a base.
Typography
The typography is based on Press Gothic, carefully adapted to suit the layout and tone of the poster.

Midjourney upscaling process:
The red background symbolizes Ellie’s blood — the potential cure for humanity — as well as fear and looming threat.
The fungal virus is not “destroying” the characters outright, but rather slowly encroaching on them, a metaphor for the way the infection — and the world’s collapse — threatens to overtake not just their surroundings, but their bond.
The composition places emphasis on weapons, posture, and gaze: Joel’s stance and line of sight hint at external danger, while Ellie’s more introspective expression speaks to her internal struggle.
