Backyard — visual identity for a modern food & leisure space

From branding to details: an identity that adapts to the changing rhythm of a social dining space.

Idea
A cozy, evolving food court that brings together diverse kitchens, casual comfort, and a communal vibe, all in one laid-back space.


Challenge
Create a flexible identity that reflects the variety of experiences, while keeping everything visually cohesive and open to future growth.


Concept

The core concept is transformation. Like the space itself, evolving from lunch to evening gatherings — the identity follows, balancing flexible shapes, warm visuals, and a relaxed mood.


Visual System
The core graphic element is an abstract pattern built from intersecting rectangular forms, a metaphor for the way different kitchens and cultures come together inside Backyard. The pattern adapts easily to various formats, while dynamic angles bring energy to compositions across brand touchpoints.


Typeface & Color

The typographic system combines classic serif elegance with bold compositions and modern rhythm, reflecting the balance between comfort and vibrancy.
The color palette is built around muted greens and off-whites, creating

a calm, cohesive connection between brand and space, while allowing flexibility for event-based variations.

Tray element

As one of the most familiar touchpoints for guests, the tray became a natural visual symbol of the space. We reimagined its shape — softening the classic silhouette into more organic, cozy forms that reflect Backyard’s calm, vibrant atmosphere.

Multiple variations echo the diversity of cuisines and cultures under one roof.
Large-scale tray shapes were also used as key visuals in the launch campaign to highlight the opening of Backyard.
