-Engawa is an element of traditional Japanese architecture and is a veranda that runs along the exterior of the house.
It was this idea that formed the basis of the project.

-Dialogue with the area. The house is located on a plot of 20 acres on the shore of a quarry. This building is a dialogue with its location. Sculptural and unconventional, the house is so organically embedded in the context that it seems as if it has always been here.

We realized not only the design of the house itself, but also thought out the landscape, thanks to which our house dissolved into the surrounding nature. That was our task and goal.

Architectural solutions
Low pylons visually grow out of the ground, continuing the line of coastal boulders.
They support the monumental plane of the roof, which functions as an open terrace.
The house seems to be spread out over the terrain, elongated horizontally, which emphasizes its connection with the ground.

The roof is the main structural element, performing several functions at once: it serves as a natural protection against the summer heat and, thanks to its landscaping, becomes part of the landscape, its logical extension.
