Colored pencils is a new media for me, and they're a new addition to my artist's arsenal. In my case, they're not a professional grade, but a children's set of 12 colors. They have very bright pigments, and I decided to try creating a series of works, limiting myself to this material and palette. This is what came out of it. The works were done in an A4 sketchbook, several on a single sheet, on ivory paper. Enjoy.

Bronzewing pigeon (Phaps chalcoptera)

Many-coloured rush tyrant (Tachuris rubrigastra)

The king eider (Somateria spectabilis)

The razorbill (Alca torda)

The golden-headed manakin (Ceratopipra erythrocephala)

Northern Emerald Toucanet (Aulacorhynchus prasinus)

Steller's sea eagle (Haliaeetus pelagicus)

Andean Cock-of-the-Rock (Rupicola peruvianus)

The Indian paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone paradisi)

The mountain bluebird (Sialia currucoides)

Common Redpoll (Acanthis flammea) I have re-imagine the last illustration as a vintage post stamp.

... and more is coming, stay tuned

That's it for a moment. Thanks for watching!
