Pika — a typeface named after the Japanese word “pika,” meaning “spark.” It is an experiment with unicase, a style commonly used in Latin but rarely seen in Cyrillic. In Cyrillic, lowercase and uppercase letters often share the same forms, so unicase doesn’t always read as an intentional device. But what happens if we introduce more unexpected shapes? This allows us to achieve a truly lively and expressive result in both Cyrillic and Latin.
