The idea of creating a project of interactive cinema biennale was born in quarantine, when almost the entire planet moved into web space and digital format. The general quarantine promoted video content platforms, streaming services, and online gaming stores. So I thought that interactive cinema, as a genre that is at the intersection of film and gaming, would be a great way to close off people’s need to consume video content and their ability to influence story narratives like in games.
I can’t help but notice that this project was also inspired by Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.
I also love games in the genre of «interactive cinema» (from Telltale Games to the series Dark Pictures), but I was interested to try to experiment with the cinema. So the project «Fork» was created. Fork" is a derivative of the word «fork» denoting the plot twists, the plot tree).
In the process of creating the site I studied a lot of interactive movies and games in the genre of «interactive cinema» and here is a list of those I would like to especially mention: «Telling Lies», «She sees red», «Last shift», «Everything is Complicated» and «Her Story».
