Project: Mascot for Children's Swimming Section
Project Objective:
The goal of this project was to create a unique mascot for the children's swimming section at an Olympic Reserve swimming center - Izzi. The mascot would serve as a symbol of professionalism, strength, and endurance while also being friendly and relatable to young swimmers. It needed to be versatile, appearing across various brand assets including logos, uniforms, promotional materials, and digital platforms. Additionally, the project required the creation of a sticker pack to further enhance brand engagement with young swimmers.
Creation Process:
Given the water-based nature of the sport, I explored various design concepts around marine animals and abstract elements that symbolize swimming. The final decision was to develop "Izzi" — a dynamic and charismatic seahorse. Seahorses are both gentle and strong, symbolizing the balance between fun and professionalism, which was ideal for the target audience of young athletes.
Digital Tools & AI Integration:
This project leveraged neural networks and AI tools to streamline the design process. Neural networks were used to explore variations in poses, facial expressions, and emotions for Izzi, allowing for quick iterations and refinements. By using these AI tools, I was able to maintain a high level of creativity while ensuring consistency across different media formats.
Sticker Pack Development:
As part of the brand's visual identity, I developed a sticker pack featuring Izzi in various poses and emotional states. These stickers can be used both digitally and in print, allowing young swimmers to connect with the brand in a fun and interactive way.
